Chad and Mindy O'Leary's team is doing just that with The Wireless Zone, which sells phones and services compatible with the Verizon Wireless Network. Their outlet, part of a national franchise network, opened recently at 175 Madison Ave.
The O'Leary name isn't new to Maine's cellular industry.
"My wife and I became part of the (Wireless Zone) franchise when we opened our first store in Bangor in 2006," he said.
The couple now operates two locations in Bangor: one at 570 Stillwater Ave.; the other in the Bangor Mall.
O'Leary and his wife have 19 employees overall, with six of them working in the Skowhegan store exclusively. The Madison Avenue store sells an array of phones -- more than 40 models. The Blackberry Storm and Motorola W755 seem to be the most popular, he said.

Reaction time to pushing button for commands is slow
Speaker quality not so great on this phone. I will check it out with another one in stock in a verizon store.
No Flash on camera but none of the phones have that these days. Welcome to manufactuing without pride.
I’m a firm beliver that products made years ago were better made. (I believe this accross the board) After all this phone has an internal antena vs my LG has an external. But the Motorola has been preforming fine in the reception end. Even the sound quality is pretty good via ear piece.
As far as a phone is concerned it’s great. I’m still undecided if I’m keeping it because of the reaction times to the commands. I guess the reaction time is slower because of Java or aero display feature. This is another trend. Make the phone look nicer and sacrafice productivity. But If this is what our population thinks is important I’d rather keep my opinion to myself on what I think of the whole situcation. I’m actually having the same issue on my GPS the old one was quick the new one although looks nicer redraws slow.
