Design - Very GoodThe Samsung Alias 2 looks almost exactly the same as the first Samsung Alias (and the Samsung SCH-U740 ), with one magical difference. While the first phones had keypads with letters and numbers printed perpendicular to each other, the Samsung Alias 2 uses e-ink technology to create an adaptable keyboard that displays different letters, numbers or symbols depending on how its being used. Without explaining e-ink in detail, it's a very cool idea, and it works nicely, especially on the dual-hinge Alias 2. Open the phone in portrait mode, and you get a numeric keypad, directional arrows and a host of shortcut keys, including a key for voice dialing, Bluetooth (power on or off), visual voice mail and more. Open the phone in landscape for messaging, and those numbers become a 4-row QWERTY keyboard, or a set of symbols keys, if you keep cycling through the options. I’m really a big fan of Samsung mobile cell phones I particularly like some of the nicely designed phones that they have launched lately. Of course it’s an ever-changing range and it just seemed to be choosing so many phones at the moment that it’s particularly hard to keep up with them.
If you’re thinking of buying a Samsung flip phone there are obviously a few things that you need to consider before making the purchase. As with any new phone you want to make sure that it has the features and most importantly the benefits that suit you. One of the features you may look at is what type of camera comes with the phone. Basic entry-level should be about 1.3 megapixel and some flip phones on average will go to about three megapixel but this of course is changing as the technology improves and it makes it quite difficult for us here to compare and review this type of thing.
Important king and buying any type of camera phone is to make sure that it has a few features to help you get better quality images and photographs. Things like auto focus, built-in flash are two key important features that you should always watch out for. Other things like shake detection, face detection and built-in software to help you manage your photos of the sea is a great help.
Depending on which service provider you currently are with what it is is Verizon wireless, T-Mobile, AT&T or any other provider this will obviously determine what type of Samsung phones are available. You are kind of at the mercy of these companies slightly as you are depending on what range of phones they have in stock. Obviously if you see a nice phone that is with a different carrier it would be nice to switch but many of us are on contracts and the only way we can do this is to terminate the contract or wait until the end. The fact that most phones are locked to signal carriers can be a bit unfortunate and you only other option is to go down the route of finding an unlocked phone that you can use on any service provider.
